Happy CNY? A joyful one i'd say.

Day 1 : The "Ang Pao" Strikes Back.

This is actually my first time celebrating CNY in singapore. Thou, its been decades since my uncle moved here, i never visited him even once. How much does it differ to celebrate in over here as compared to malaysia? In retrospect, every tradition has been maintained to this day and nothings seems to be different. The ones i celebrate with are chinese, house-cleaning before the 30th, yee sang a must for 1st day of new year, and ang baos are red in colour but the currency over here definitely prevails =)

I spent the whole day visiting my oh-so-long-distanced-relatives on the 1st day. They are quite generous when it comes to giving ang paos i'd say. Honestly speaking i'm still having a hard time remembering their names. Furthermore i don't know what should i call my cousin's uncles names. I'm really bad with those ah-ku, ah-kim, ah-chiu,ah-ba, ah-sim and all the bla-bla-black sheep terms. They are really kind people thou, which gives me more reason to remember their names. Haha.

Day 2: Attack of the "Pai-pan"

So what is CNY without gambling in the picture? Its like being a kambing sesat in jalan sesat! Imagine if gambling is forbidden in malaysia/singapore, what would we do? Watch your collection of DVDs for 12 hours straight while downing those sinful CNY snacks, babysit your newfound niece/nephew, or play minesweeper on your computer cos' all the shops are closed and you have nowhere to go? Of course not! Gambling is the THING that actually fills up our lives during this annual event. I would like to thank Mahjong, the grandmomma of all gambling events for your existence,for unleashing my hidden talents, increasing my concentration time-span,for making me loose money and most importantly, for forging family ties (and breaking some other).

Day 3: The Return of the Brudddeeeer.

KH touched-down at 5am but i met up with him at around 12pm. Seems like ma brother is all growned up and growned wide. Haha. We took a lil' stroll around town and ended up in suntec city for a drink. It's great being able to catch up with you again KH. Looks like we're facing the same shit but someday,i'm certain that things would be better off. Hehe. Hope that your dreams and goals will be fulfilled and may your prayers be answered. Ask and you shall recieve. =)
